Overview

Students may request a date change with 10 days advanced notice; however, a change fee of $25.oo will apply. Students are required to buy the Heartsaver Provider Manual before class. Both books and e-books can be purchased on the American Heart Association website. Either the book or e-book must be available during the course; both may be used for a resource during the exam.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

  1. FIRST AID

Heartsaver First Aid is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage emergencies in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrive.

Students learn the duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuer First aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke Skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, bites, and stings.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

  1. CPR AED

Heartsaver CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants.

This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, allowing instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide their learning of skills.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

  1. First Aid CPR AED

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive.

Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.

This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, allowing instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide their learning of skills.
